Thanks!
Well, Ignite Cheyenne 1 is in the books! First, we would like to thank all those who were able to attend. Without you, it would just be the 3 of us standing in front of a blank projector screen and probably looking pretty dopey. We would also like to thank the speakers who made the night fun and enlightening. In case you forgot who they were, here they are again:
Unfortunately, one of our speakers had a problem come up last minute and was unable to attend. We have talked to him and have decided to save his for Ignite Cheyenne 2. If you are interested in joining Anthony Sara as a speaker, let us know!
Finally, if it wasn’t for our sponsor, we probably would have been out in a parking lot somewhere hanging a sheet on an old building and trying to scream over traffic.
Thanks to LCCC for sponsoring our event.
We took videos of all the Ignite Cheyenne talks, which we will post on our Youtube page. They will be up by the end of the week. If you missed out or were unable to attend, you can re-live all the action there!
Unfortunately, we didnt get pictures of everyone, but we did get a few. Thanks to Nick Armstrong for taking these shots.
Once again, thank you all for coming, and we look forward to seeing you next time. Don’t forget to bring some friends!
We here at Ignite Cheyenne are looking forward to bringing you a fun event where you will be inspired, talk to old friends and make new ones and have an all-around great time. Just like you, we know that events like that are best if they are free, and to do that, we need sponsors.
For the first Ignite Cheyenne, we had 1 sponsor that we absolutely could not have the event without, and we wanted to thank them. Laramie County Community College is our sponsor for Ignite Cheyenne 1. Thank you LCCC!!! This event would not have happened without you!
In no particular order, here are the speakers for the first Ignite Cheyenne, and the titles of their talks:
This may or may not be everyone, we are working on adding people. If you’re interested, drop us a line! We will have 3 speakers before the break, and three speakers after the break. All told, the Event will probably take 2.5 hours, including the mingling hour before (and after, if interested) the talks.
We will see you October 5 at 6pm at the Plains Hotel in Downtown Cheyenne!
If you have not gotten your tickets, you can get them free here
You can find us on Facebook or Twitter as well.
We will see you there.
Despite our best efforts to let you know exactly what Ignite is and how Ignite Cheyenne will work and why you will have a great time there, I don’t know if we have told you quite enough about Ignite or gotten you excited enough to make the trip down to the plains on October 5.
If you’re still curious, we would love for you to go down to Fort Collins, CO and attend the Ignite Event they are having on Sept 22. You can get your tickets here. If you don’t feel like driving down to fort collins, you can check out some of their presentations on youtube. Below are some of my favorites:
As you can see, the presentations don’t have to be serious, they just have to be interesting and FUN! We know you’ve got skills and have something to share. Send us your ideas and maybe you’ll get to speak.
If you’re too shy, come out and talk with everyone. We will be glad you did. See you October 5 at 6pm at the Plains Hotel. FREE TICKETS Available here!
Great news everyone. Tickets are now available for the first Ignite Cheyenne.

Now that you know a little bit about Ignite Cheyenne, you may be thinking to yourself “wow, that’s cool and I’d like to be a part of it” Great!
We would love to have you present at Ignite Cheyenne and share something interesting and fun with the Ignite Cheyenne crowd. Here’s the way it works:
First, you want to head over to the contact form (or send us an email at ignitecheyenne[at]gmail.com replace [at] with @) and fill in a bit about what you’d like to talk about. No need to write a book, just a title and a short description. We need to have this from ALL interested speakers no later than noon on Monday, September 20, 2010.
Second, We will review all talk topics and make selections. We will try to balance fun topics with the educational talks and we will try to have a diverse range of talks through the night. If your talk is selected, you’ll get an email from us confirming your talk and other important information about the night. This email will have more information, but as a heads-up we will need your completed presentation no later than 5pm on Thursday, September 30, 2010.
Now the fun starts. With our email, you’ll get your very own set of slides that are already timed to advance every 15 seconds. You can fill it out however you like, but remember the Ignite tagline “Enlighten us, but make it quick.” You have free reign to teach us something in 5 minutes. We want you to have fun with it.
When making your slides remember:
We want you (and everyone else) to have a great experience at Ignite Cheyenne, be enlightened by others and enjoy the event as much as possible. Possibly most important, we want you to come back again!
Here are some great resources for designing your first Ignite Cheyenne talk
If you had five minutes to say something to the people of Cheyenne, what would you say?
Well think it over, because we are giving you a chance to say it. Ignite Cheyenne is a place where people from Cheyenne and southeastern Wyoming can come to share ideas, hobbies, socialize and have a great time. Ignite Cheyenne is about showcasing your ideas and your passion. Both of those things can make Cheyenne an even better place! We want to hear you talk at Ignite Cheyenne.

Welcome everyone, and thanks for stopping by to find out about Ignite Cheyenne! Below you’ll find answers to some common questions about Ignite events and Ignite Cheyenne.
On the website, Ignite is called a “global movement”, here we just like to think of it as a group of people gathering around to share stories, tips and tricks that make life and work easier, and a forum for people to talk about their passions.
Each speaker at Ignite will get 20 slides to tell their story. However, there’s a catch: each slide will auto-advance after 15 seconds, making the total time of the talk 5 minutes. The format of the slides embodies the Ignite tagline “Enlighten us, but make it quick.”
Ignite Cheyenne is free to the public, but you do need to sign up for a free ticket. You can sign up for tickets starting at 9:30 am on Friday September 3, 2010 here. Having you register helps us by letting us know how many people to expect, and in turn how much food and beer to provide (also free) at the event.
Just show up. If you enjoy yourself, make sure to tell your friends and come back next time (we are shooting to coincide with Global Ignite Week for Ignite Cheyenne 2). If you’re feel really brave, give a talk!
We will be uploading pictures from the event to our Flickr page and the talks to our Youtube Channel
